Canadian Concrete BMX Jam Results!

The 1st stop on the etnies Canadian Concrete jam of the year was the best and biggest one to date. The largest am class, the largest and heaviest pro class, and the youngest rippers threw down at Kirkstone Park in North Vancouver park on Sunday the 22nd. At the end of the day, etnies rider Wade Lajlar took first place! The next event is in Richmond on July 20th.

Bring It To The Streets

Now here is something original- Underworld, Emerica, and Altamont are taking part in a different kind of best trick contest. Meet at 1pm at the Plaza and the shuttle will take you and the media from spot to spot, pub crawl style. There is a max of thirty skaters allowed in, so don't sleep on entering.

Jamie Tancowny Thrasher Cover

Yeah we proud of our boy! Young Emerican Jamie Tancowny graces the cover of Thrasher Magazine August 2008 with a sweet bigspin. Jamie has been on Emerica for less than a year and is doing a good job of getting coverage to the masses. Jamie Tancowny, who rides for Emerica Footwear and Gear, also rides for Zero Skateboards and Independent Trucks who have given him ads in the past few months. Jamie is currently working on video parts for both Zero and the upcoming Emerica epic, Stay Gold! Jamie Rips!

Pressure - RVCA x Cinelli Bike Art Show in SF

RVCA had an art show + party at their VASF shop in San Francisco to celebrate their collaboration with Cinelli. The event was a huge success and the hard work from all the people at RVCA definatley paid off. With over 1,000 people through the doors, a line going up the hill all night long, the world of incredible art and culture jammed packed in the gallery, an amazing performance by Brendan Fowler from Car Clutch, a unique window by MASH, a debut of The Council of Doom film on the store TV screens, and a huge smile on Antonio Colombo's face (ownerof Cinelli) it is sure to be one of RVCA's proudest moments..

RVCA is currently working on a mini movie covering the collaboration - so stay tuned.

A couple hundred kids were lucky enough to get the exclusive Emerica WITS 2008 kelly green tees that you see. What will top this? You’ll just have to wait to find out.

Emerica's Wild Ride on Epicly Later'd!

For the next month, Patrick O'Dell will be documenting the Emerica team and friends on their motorcycles and skateboards across these states on the Emerica Wild Ride Tour, with a full roster of skaters. Some photos here and here and here.

Get Tricks 2008

eS Footwear and Underworld Skate Shop presented "Get Tricks" at Railside Skate Park in Coquitlam, with 35 skaters competing. Paul Trep placed in first, and RVCA and etnies rider Stacey Gabriel placed in 5th. eS rider John Hanlon was one of the winners for the Best Trick Contest held at the clump of obstacles tucked into the corner of the skatepark for his (gap down to rail) lipslide, backlip, back tail (double set) hardflip. The Rolling Perspective tour is making it's way to Montreal on the 28th.

etnies and Color Magazine asked skaters to shoot a photo of themselves from their own rolling perspective. Over 200 portraits have been collected from skaters across Canada, the United States and as far as Japan.

Allan De Genova

Allan De Genova, one of Vancouver skateboarders greatest advocates, is having a nomination meeting this Sunday, June 15th at the Croation Cultural Centre in Vancouver. He was a huge part in completing Hastings Skate Bowl and Quilchena Skate Park, and also contributed to building the park under the Georgia Viaduct. Allan is currently running for mayor with Vision Vancouver.
