Lifted Research Group (LRG) returns to its roots of supporting simple underground initiatives and to bring about overground effect. Supporting emerging artists and providing them with a platform for exposure has always been LRG’s dictum, and so the label turned it sunny California headquarters into the physical embodiment of that platform for Chicago graffiti artist, Pose. LRG Spring 10 preview

To be honest our Spring 2010 photoshoot was a last minute idea that came from marketing and design. We wanted to give the consumer an emotional tie by shooting on location with vivid scenenery and cutting edge photography. Spring 2010 was shot in Yosemite National Park. Destination photography is the direction we will be taking moving forward. We rented an R.V. and loaded up it up with people, food and equipment and drove all night until the sun came up. We had no idea what to expect but knew we were going somewhere beautiful and unexplored. Beautiful is an undersatement and creativity was in full bloom. We shot skate team riders Rob Gonzalez, Karl Watson and Kelly Hart and also up and coming artist Mike Posner. It took one day to scout locations and the rest we freestyled. We literally stumbled upon some of mother natures finests. This new direction will give L-R-G a more mature feeling and bring personality and life to our clothing. We think you’ll agree how refined, polished and distinguished the Spring 2010 line looks. We are forever young at heart and our concept will always remain the same. Created as a joint venture between long-time LRG skater, Chico Brenes and DVS, the Munition CT Mid is one of DVS’ more popular skate models to date. Taking the original black with red-lined number on a Fall spin, the Munition CT Mid in Brown Snake is remade in a brown snake skin upper with mustard yellow lining. The fall-appropriate kicks sit atop a crisp white sole with red piping, adorned with both LRG and Chico custom branding on tongue and heel. Just dropped this month at FUSION INC, these are one of the rare finds crafted from a even rarer material.

Scrape by the Lake - 10th Anniversary

Last weekend THE premiere Ontario car show, Scrape by the Lake, celebrated it's 10th Anniversary in serious style down in Niagara. Sponsored by Etnies and LRG, Scrape is run by Faction Sales' own Joe Wing and his renowned Rollerz Only car club. This year the place was packed with over 5000 people and showcased over 700 cars in addition to some skateboard and motocross demos and everybody's favorite 'Miss Scrape by the Lake' bikini pageant.

Weekend at Birnie's

It started with OMB (David Birnie) seeing all these lame events for kids that cost money for really...nothing. So, with the help of the Seymour park crew and friends in the industry (32, etnies, Dragon, Dinosaurswilldie, Union, Airblaster, LRG, Da Kine, Capita), we came up with a free event with an overkill of product and no charge for the kids to enter. Kind of a thank you to the kids that are in the know. Three years and four events later, we are at the Weekend at Birnies 2-day parks event. We did day one at the lodge chair park. About 70 kids hung around and rode and were rewarded for trying tricks and just having fun. Fratboy BBQ'd up hot dogs and the sun was out all day. Day two was at the mystery chair lower jib park - the park was perfect for easy hikes and lots of fun things to hit. We even had reps hiking all day long. Lots of kids returned as did the sun and a lot of fun was had. Thanks to everyone that helped me out it's not like I do this by myself. See you next year for the return of Smitty and Hoppy at the Sanford Halfpipe.
