five&dime "GOT NAUTICAL"

On Saturday August 15th to help celebrate the launch of the SP10 five & dime Tradeshow in Toronto eS Footwear and Timebomb Trading presented a boat cruise around the Toronto harbour and islands on an old fashioned schooner sailboat.
The weather was perfect, the scenic backdrop was beautiful, the company was great, and the drinks were flowing! Big thanks to Lance and Alex from five & dime for hooking this up.

LRG x Coats For Kizzles...thank you!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who contributed to Timebomb Trading and LRG's Coats For Kids campaign, which helped raise almost 250 (!!!) winter coats, mittens, scarves, hats, and snow pants for the South Burnaby Neighborhood House and Burnaby Metrotown Rotary Club.
The people at South Burnaby Neighborhood House (SBNH) were very nice and let Judah and I go along with them to one of their drop-off locations. Photos below. (thanks Judah!!!)

The drop off truck on its way. The SBNH/Burnaby Metrotown Rotary's Coats for Kids campaign collects jackets and donates them to schools as well as agencies like the Burnaby Family Life Institute, which is where we visited.

Parked and ready to roll out with Kimberly Barwich, expert truck driver and Coats for Kids organizer for the SBNH. As you can see, the truck is filled with jackets hung on rolling racks. The kids and their parents come on board and get to do some jacket shopping.

Families can register to receive jackets directly with the SBNH or through their child's school or agencies and community centers like the YWCA.

Chillin.

Hangin while someone else does the shopping. Cute.

Last year, the SBNH collected around 800 jackets in total. Hopefully, your donations helped them to hit bigger numbers this year!

Judah catching a picture of me repping 2 coffees, gettin thangs done.

Inside of the truck. So far this year, the SNBH has visited approximately 30 drop-off locations.
So again, thank you to everyone who helped contribute! It was really cool to see how the whole thing works. You may still donate to the program directly, although Timebomb is no longer accepting donations. Please visit the SNBH website for the address of their office. Drop-offs may be between the hours of 9am-5pm. A special thank-you goes out to the Timebomb staff, Judy and Raiden Louie and the families from Brockton, Boardroom, Gentle Fawn, Global Collective Design/Arson, TNT Agency, JW Sales, and NLA. We could not have raised such an amazing amount of donations without you!

Tiki Room
Riding that wave and showing the summer 09 Sole Tech footwear
Vp: How many years have you been in business and do you remember the first line that you every
N: The Tiki Room has been open since 1996, under the umbrella of World of Trout, which opened in 1992. I've been with WOT/Tiki since 1993. I've had this job longer than I had ever been in school. Whoa. Scary thought.
Vp: Your shop is killer!!! But at one time was there any killing going on???
N: Part of our building used to be a fur storage vault, but I am pretty sure the animals weren't killed on the premises (unless they were gopher skins). I personally kill it in our Saturday dice games... does that count?
Vp: I think that you carry every line that we distribute minus the snow goods.
N: We've been considering the laser tag thing, but...... at a brief point we had snowboards in the 90's. We carried skate/snow brands (Skull Skates, Shorty's, World) and I realized that I didn't know a damn thing about snow stuff. The overhead with snow stuff combined with my complete lack of knowledge of it solidified my choice to go skate only. I've been skating since the mid 80's, and consider myself a skate nerd, so keeping things pure is pretty important for me. When you're starting out, you think that you've gotta provide everything to everyone, but you're better off focusing on what you know, not grasping for dollars from everywhere you can.
Vp: Other than Freshjive and eS, what other Timebomb lines are you most stoked about and why?
N: I like the diversity of
Vp: Has Garret ever showed you the rebound in any of our sole tech footwear?
N: What's the rebound? Is that some STI lab shit? Garret who? (jokes)
Vp: Your Jimbo Phillip’s/Tiki Room skate deck and wheels colab has been featured in a lot magazines/websites.
N: I'm pretty stoked to have been able to wrangle Jimbo for this project. I've been a huge fan of Jimbo and his dad's (Jim Phillips) artwork for years.
Vp: Any last words?
